How You Like Them Apples?

So I had a bunch of photos and videos on my phone in queue to write up some blog posts. The other day I noticed an update was available so I nonchalantly clicked the button. Bad idea. It was the new iOS 9.0 software update. There was a cascade of bad technical errors and now I've lost all my contacts, calendar, and iPhoto items. Argghhh! I have a naked phone and it feels like I've had my identity taken away from me. Now I'm on various google searches for a recovery method. First World problems!!! I feel like this:
