Uh Oh Manny...

I'm guessing that most of the US media has been roasting Manny Pacquiao for his recent comments on same-sex marriage. I've seen the video clip of his interview as well as the apology he posted on his Facebook and Instagram account. They're all in Tagalog so it's helpful to read the transcripts of what he actually said. Although his views are being criticized by many here in the Philippines, it probably pales in comparison to how the rest of the world now views him. I found this recent post on his Instagram account which kind of shows why he has gained so much popularity in this country. I think the vast majority of people here will quickly forgive and forget. He has been immortalized by Filipinos for a long time but it's unfortunate that his recent comments may resonate with people for a long time.
