HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE

Hi! Grace here.  Just wanted to hack into this system to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Charlie.  I think after a certain age you should just stop counting...so I won't reveal the number BUT wanted to give a big shout out to my hubby of 15 years on his birthday.  This year has certainly been a year of transition for the whole LEE family.  Like every year recently, I believe that Charlie has blossomed the most.  With our househelper in place and the kids at school, Charlie has a unique freedom with his time that most people do not have.  What I am proud of is how Charlie is using this precious time.  Aside from the privileged working out, golfing, & other sports activities, Charlie has been putting his doctorate to use by working with the athletics program at the school 2x a week.  The other day, Charlie was helping with an international volleyball tournament that Toby and I attended and in the stands a stranger tapped my shoulder and said, "Hi, I'm the high school principal, just wanted to say what a wonderful contribution Charlie is making at the school."  Wow!  Local celebrity :)  Also, he volunteers 1x a week with the church at local impoverished areas.  I always say I envy Charlie's "free time" but I really am impressed with how he fills his days.  AND, the boys are slowly starting to shift from mama's boys to preferring appa! THEY LOVE that they get to spend all their time with Charlie because he is a dad that is engaged:  super smash mario, minecraft, legos, tennis, shooting pool, golf. He does it all!  I am certain that our boys will look back and cherish this time with their dad.

SO...happy birthday babe! I am always appreciative of how your support me, but I am even more pleased with the way you have been growing.  I can forgive the old man tendencies (like making weird noises, talking sllllooooowwww, and stretching/fidgeting and inability to use excel) because your heart is so big.  I hope that this year has been fruitful and memorable and look forward enjoying this life we have together.
