Sports Day

The Elementary School at ISM hosted its annual Sports Day. Got to spend the day at school following Chase and Toby around like the paparazzi. A full day of different events inside and outside. I got tired just watching them.

Basketball is very popular in the Philippines. The NBA has a good market here. Unfortunately this ball is purple and gold.

Even though January and February are considered cooler months here, the temperatures are still very warm and humid. The kids loved the water events.

A sign of the times. In the center of this picture there's a guy holding onto what looks like a white "X". It's actually a quad-copter drone with a Go Pro video camera on it.

You can see it in flight here in front of the tree trunk. The IT and Robotics departments filmed the outdoor events and included some of the footage in the highlight video that was shown at the end of the day. Pretty cool stuff.

Dunk Tank. You can see the forearm of one of the teachers who was standing next to the release lever. Let's just say he was generous even when the kids didn't hit the bullseye.

One of Chase's first friends Allen (next to him with the orange football). It has been a slower transition for Chase than Toby. I know he misses his friends and school back in Angola.

Hard not to smile when jumping off a trampoline.

Such a contrast when you see the city buildings in the backdrop of the school.

This climbing wall goes pretty high up. Was tempted to try it myself.

Obstacle course with sprinklers. Each class had its own custom t-shirts made. Chase thought that was cool.

Boys versus girls popcorn tag.

I was surprised to see actual gymnastics equipment. Maybe I was deprived as a kid or these guys got it good.

First time using the panoramic feature on my camera phone.
