Less than a week after Manila was hit by a typhoon, we now have a tropical storm "Mario" rolling through Luzon. There was heavy lightning and thunder last night and it has been raining (not sprinkling) all day today. This is the most rain I have ever experienced. At least 8 hours of constant downpour and the forecast isn't supposed to change for the next 24 hours. School was shortened to a half-day due to heavy rain and potential road closures. Even Grace's office shut down at lunch to let everyone get a head start on getting back home for the weekend. We are definitely safe and the weather is still pretty warm so the rain isn't all so bad. But the city is drenched. I've heard that the rain here can be pretty impressive. Now I am getting a glimpse.
