Went to a small community in Valenzuela City. With some traffic about an hour away from Manila. There's an organization here that was founded by a group of women who were also involved with bringing Habitat for Humanity to the Philippines. You can find more information about iHome on their website which I've posted at the bottom. They basically utilize a revolving fund concept where they build homes in very impoverished areas. Recipients are expected to pay back the cost of their home as well as contribute with some of the manual labor which they refer to as "sweat equity". All the funds that are collected including outside donations are used to continue providing future housing projects. As a point of reference, they typically build 25-30 square meter, single-story homes (about 300 square feet). Yes, very modest accommodations. The total cost to the family is around 150,000 pesos (under $3,500) which is usually paid over a 10-15 year period. Seems like an organization that is doing some great work out here. They are faith-based and make it very known that the heart of their work is preaching the gospel - that there is an eternal home waiting for us that is far greater than any earthly home we could dream or imagine. A great reminder for me as I return to my high rise apartment over looking the country club.

Five homes will be built on this small plot of land.
Met some of the community children. Made some hand crafted notebooks with Angelo, RC, Raymond, and Lawrence.
I noticed Lawrence's loom bracelets. I asked him about them and he ended up giving one of them to me.
