These are three of our hosts during the trip. Sophal, Srorn, and Daneth. They work for an agency called Community Health and Agricultural Development (CHAD). They are affiliated with the Methodist Church in Cambodia (MCC). They are working "in the trenches" to help spread the gospel throughout Cambodia. Their model is similar to others I have seen firsthand in Africa - to be a facilitator for the local churches and communities. Not to step in and provide "relief" but to train and empower communities to take care of themselves and each other. They have great stories about the work they are doing and the results they are seeing across the country. Our team was very grateful to meet them and be served by them. Such great hearts.
Here's our team. Quite an eclectic group :) It was an adventure from the beginning. Of course, we got to know each other well after spending 9 days together. Lots of laughs and inside jokes now.
