Took a day trip to the "bush" outside of Sydney. About a 90-minute drive and we arrived at a place called Echo Point. This area is known as Blue Mountains because of the blue haze that is given off by the eucalyptus trees in the sunlight. The rock formation on the left is called Three Sisters. Down in the valley is a rain forest which we got to walk through. Pretty amazing.
* We are staying at a hotel right in the heart of Sydney Harbour in an area called The Rocks (about four blocks from the Lindt Chocolate Cafe). While we spent the day touring the Blue Mountains we heard about the hostage situation back in Sydney. We are safe and hoping that everything ends quickly and non-violently. Crazy world, even in a historically peaceful place like Sydney.
