Retiring in the Philippines

I thought this article from the Wall Street Journal was pretty interesting - a perspective on why the Philippines is the best place to retire. I would say the article is pretty accurate from what I've experienced so far, except for the part on healthcare. Medical costs can be cheaper here than in the US, but I would say the quality is far from what you can get in more developed countries. I've heard that people would much rather fly to Bangkok or Singapore for medical care if they can afford it. Still, there are many positives about retiring in the Philippines...
