The boys have been talking about how much they miss going fishing like we did in Angola. We had a lot of good memories on those trips. Surprisingly, in a country of over 7,000 islands, it's not that easy to go fishing when you live in Metro Manila. Let's just say that in Manila Bay you're more likely to catch an old shoe than a fish. So I researched some "nearby" fishing spots and found a place in Valenzuela City. It's not too far from Manila distance-wise, but with the traffic and limited choice of routes, it could take awhile - and it did. About a 2-hour drive. Not bad considering, but when you're less than 10 miles from the ocean, driving 2-hours to go fishing seems a bit odd. But it was still lots of fun. Nice to get out of the city and get into nature. We got a late start so we didn't stay very long. And we only had a few serious bites and one catch (by one of the local boys helping us). At least now we know where to go and what to expect. Hopefully we'll go back in the future and share some pics of a boatload of fish.
