I've heard a joke that the national bird of the Philippines should be the crane. But seriously, there are so many cranes that they've become a natural part of the skyline. You don't even notice them anymore. I took a picture and counted about 12 cranes that I could easily see from this one corner. I'm no political economist, but I wonder how well all this construction is being managed. I know the Philippine economy is growing, but I'm not so sure that the money is being well spent. I guess someone is paying the bills for all these buildings. The concrete jungle grows.
