City Life II

Right now we are enjoying the convenience of living in the city. Grace can walk to work in about 5 minutes and most restaurants and the grocery store is also just a few minutes away. Because we live above the mall, it's always bustling on the streets outside (for good or bad). Definitely not like compound living in Angola (On the topic of malls: there are A LOT of malls in Manila. Not sure how everyone stays in business but seems like there's a mall every few miles around here). The school is about a 20 minute drive (with mild traffic) which will change once we move to an apartment. It will probably take about 5-10 minutes to get to school once we live in the Fort (aka Fort Bonifacio, aka Global City, aka Bonifacio Global City). Still city living but a little less crowded than where we are at here in Makati City (all sub-sections of greater Manila). Grace's commute will increase (she'll need to take the car) but still much better than the Luanda traffic she was sitting in everyday. As nice as it is to be in a hotel, have daily cleaning service, walk downstairs to Starbucks, I think we will feel more settled once we move to an apartment and receive our shipment from the US (furniture, bikes, electronics, etc).

A look at the traffic from outside our window around 3:00PM.
