Customer Service

One of the most apparent and welcoming attributes of the Philippines is their customer service. Everyone greets you with a "Hello Sir/Ma'am". Even the policemen on the streets will take the time to acknowledge you (kinda takes some of the intimidation away from the big rifles they are holding). I think it speaks more about the people here since you can't possibly teach this type of widespread attitude in a new employee orientation. I can see how people who aren't used to this magnitude of courtesy take a liking to the Philippines. Just makes you feel welcomed into their country.
