Efforts to recover from the typhoon that hit the Philippines back on November 8th are still in its early stages. An estimated $3.1 billion will be spent just this year on rebuilding the country. Even though there are usually daily articles about Haiyan in the newspaper, it's hard to get a good sense of it all here in Manila. Although certain parts of the country were devastated, the city of Manila seems to appear mostly unaffected. It will be interesting to get a better idea of how the Philippines grows and develops in the wake of last year's typhoon. Also looking forward to ways that we can participate in the recovery process.
