A guard opening the door at a local mall called Aura
The Journey Continues: We have been given the opportunity to live in Manila for the next three years! Grace will be taking on a new role as Finance Manager and I will continue suffering as an ex-pat spouse. But seriously, I'm hoping to do some work and keep my PT brain and hands going so I don't forget everything. A great place to come and visit. We'd love to have you over or meet up somewhere in Asia.

Security
One noticeable aspect about Manila is the amount of security guards that seem to be everywhere. Almost every store, cafe, or restaurant has a security guard standing at the door. You pretty much never have to open a door for yourself. There's usually a guard opening the door for you. Every street corner also seems to have a security guard (with a legitimate gun) standing on the sidewalk. Even the streets have traffic officers at major intersections making sure that drivers are following the rules. It all makes it feel like a very safe place to be. Oh yeah, and they are very approachable if you happen to need directions or need help finding some place.
