Typhoon Glenda (as we call it here) has come and gone. Most of the blown over trees and damaged roofs have now been cleaned up and replaced. Apparently, a typhoon actually passing through metro manila is rare. Lucky me!
Less than a week and the family will be reunited. Can't wait. Although 3 weeks alone in a place like Manila is pretty darn easy in my book. Well, I guess that is RELATIVE to Angola. I have been dabbling in various non essential beauty treatments such as eye lash extensions and hair rebonding. I will try these things once in my life and then go back to the normal me. I have decided that asian beauty standards are too high maintenance. But I do believe that any woman that reaches the age of 40 should be allowed to do some major beauty tune-ups whatever that may be. I will focus on maintaining my healthy eating, getting some exercise and monthly facials. That's about all I can commit to:)
Once the boys return they will start school that same week...believe it or not Chase will be in 5th grade and here 5th grade means MIDDLE SCHOOL? What??!!! Do we look like parents of a middle schooler??? Ok, maybe.
What is more exciting is Philippine schools like all other international schools (I'm discovering) have plenty of holidays scattered throughout the year. Now that we are settled in a bit here, we can start to think about the places in Asia we would like to travel. I'm thinking...Japan, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam will be first on our list. Hopefully, someday we will make it to Australia. I think that is Charlie's dream. I hope to make it happen.
Although it is hard to be away from the boys, I think some of this time away has allowed me to regroup, relax (by watching cheesy rom coms) and appreciate them more. So, when I see them this Sunday it will be a sweet reunion. I hope that my boys have had a memorable summer and are ready for a new adventure in this life we have in the Philippines. Change and uncertainty is scary and stressful, but now that we have been here for more than 1/2 a year...I realized that we too have survived. Thanks to these guys coming along with me for this ride.....
I'm missing my handsome hubby:
