We spent the day with our guide Mandy. It's definitely nice to have a local person who is able to help us plan our vacation and take care of all the details. Today we took a trip west of Bangkok to visit a few special places. Lots of driving. Probably 3-4 hours each way with a bit of traffic. But well worth it. We first visited the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Something straight out of National Geographic. Then got to get up close and personal with some elephants. On the way back we visited The Bridge over the River Kwai (I guess this was made famous in a book and movie) which is in Kanchanaburi. A full day with lots of great memories.
Grace and Chase enjoying their nature walk.
Chase got to take a bath in the river with his elephant.
Toby and Grace were both a little nervous but also got in the river to wade with the elephant.
Strong. I was easily lifted up with this guy's trunk. He turned around and dropped me in the deep end.
The floating market was really cool to see. You could pretty much buy anything without getting out of your boat.
One of the nice things about touring with a guide. Family photos with all four of us.
Fruits, vegetables, noodles, clothes, souvenirs... Pretty much everything. The guy on the very right of the photo is holding a big snake. Not sure if it's just for picture taking.
