My View for the Week

I've been in quarantine with the flu this past week. Isolated myself in Chase's room every day/night. What a week. Seems like when I've gotten sick in Angola or in Manila, it's the real deal. No 2-3 days of feeling bad. More like 6-7 days of feeling awful. I'm just starting to get an appetite again and am no longer popping pills to keep my fever down. Almost everything feels sore from laying down so much. Funny how your mind even works in the brief moments of pseudo-sanity in between groans of suffering. But I made a few observations this week:

- Strong germs + an aging body = slow recovery. It's so easy to take health for granted. Always a good reminder to be grateful.

- The boys are probably not used to seeing me laid up in bed. Chase especially was going out of his way to ask me how I'm feeling, getting me water, and telling me he's praying I get better soon.

- Having a driver and house helper are already helpful to begin with but when someone is sick, they become even more invaluable.
